emanila.com was established by Romy Cayabyab and Rom Zamora in June 1998 as part of Sydney’s activities relating to the Philippine Independence Centennial celebration. It started as a translating service for Filipino youth and their friends outside the Philippines and a platform for promoting activities of Philippine community associations in Australia to Australia’s mainstream society.

In November 2000, emanila.com received the prestigious Inaugural Award for Technology, National Multicultural Marketing Awards, a project of the Community Relations Commission of NSW under the NSW Premier’s Office.

Today, emanila remains the flagship of emanila.com pty ltd, a company incorporated in New South Wales, Australia. emanila currently operates more than a dozen websites in entertainment, travel, education and market research.

emanila book publications

emanila is placed in a unique position to publish content to cater to the market beyond the web.

In June 2004, it published its first book, The Best of PinoyJokes.net, sourced from its collection of jokes, one liners, gags and funnies from the PinoyJokes.net website.

In February 2006, emanila launched an anthology of poems by new and upcoming Filipino poets from its library of more than 15,000 poems.

Both book launches were staged in Makati City at the Power Book shop, Greenbelt.

emanila is planning to come up with a sequel of both books in which sponsors and advertisers can display their products or services.
