emanilapoetry member wins top prize in international poetry contest

Ernesto P. Santiago, an OFW based in Athens Greece, won the top prize in recently concluded March 6, 2008 PoetrySoup International Poetry Contest. Santiago’s poem is “Spring Bud.” A member emanilapoetry since 2006, some of his poems had also been featured in emanila’s Poetry site.  Learn more.

Tagalog is eighth language in Australia, second in Blacktown

In its latest research, Compucentric Consulting has reported that Tagalog (Filipino) is the eighth non-English language spoken at Australian homes. Based on Australian Bureau of Statistics data, the research reported that Tagalog is now considered the eighth language spoken in Australian homes.  The seven other non-English languages are Italian, Greek, Cantonese, Arabic, Vietnamese, Mandarin and Spanish.

Pilipino section has moved to Dateline Philippines

The move is to capitalise on the ease of Dateline Philippines in updating its information using the latest technology in news posting.

Articles on the controversial “The Filipino State (Another way of looking at Philippine History)” and “Ang Pinanggalingan ng Tatarin” have been moved to the new section.

Dateline Philippines re-opens with another DTI business news
